introducing... Fraser A. Gorman
Australia is home to some great things: Koalas, Didgeridoos and AC/DC. It's also home to some not so great things: terrifying spiders, unbearable heat and Tony Abbott. Fraser A. Gorman is most certainly in the category with koalas. The 23 year old Melbourne based singer-songwriter is a real charmer with a voice and lyrics to accompany. Gorman has just released his debut record, 'Slow Gum', and it's a strong debut album. If you're not familiar with Gorman's music, then you may recognise him from fellow-Australian Courtney Barnett's music videos. In fact, Gorman is signed to MILK! Records in Australia, Barnett's label. The UK was also introduced to Fraser A. Gorman after supporting Courtney Barnett on her UK tour this year. Make yourself familiar with the man. It's no doubt that he will be back in the UK soon and appearing at all your favourite festivals, gracing big stages in the warm British heat. He already has two critically acclaimed singles under his belt - 'Book of Love' and 'Broken Hands'. His looks will take you back to the time Bob Dylan was young, and with his great music abilities he has great knowledge of history of American rock n' roll. With inspiration coming from Townes Van Zandt, Willie Nelson and Hank Williams, his lyrics focus on a lackadaisical lifestyle and with the combination of his slow and sweet country melodies Gorman will transport you into his easy-going mind, fuelled by his childhood and young love.
