Introducing... Dream Wife
Dream Wife are art, quite literally... The trio started as an “imaginary band stuck in the 90’s” for an art project, but soon transitioned into a ‘real band” due to popular demand. Consisting of English musicians Alice and Bella, and Reykjavik music scene regular Rakel Mjöll, the Brighton based Dream Wife create “poolside pop with a bite”. Releasing two singles this year, ‘Believe’ and 'F.U.U’, and going out on a spontaneous tour of the wonderful land of Canada, Dream Wife have been very busy, working away under the radar of a lot of us. Dream Wife’s debut single ‘Believe’ captures their self proclaimed ‘pool side pop with a bite’ sound. With grunge-like guitar riffs and ethereal vocals, if Grimes and Kim Gordon made a song together, it might result in something like this. Whilst 'F.U.U' on the over hand is Dream Wife’s deadliest statement of intent, if 'Believe' is the 'poolside' in their sound, then 'F.U.U' is the ‘bite’. As a project, Dream Wife’s vision doesn’t just lie in their music, their videos, fashion, and all around demeanour spew charisma and personality. Dream Wife have developed a real sense of character, something a lot of bands lack these days. They are going to take no prisoners on their path to achieving ‘pool side pop’ perfection, but be prepared. The furious, glitter clad storm awaits us all.
