a quick catch up with... Prison Whites

Prison Whites are undoubtably the most exciting band coming out of Cambridge at the moment. The three piece stick to their DIY routes with melodic punk rock tunes that'll make you want to jump around like a madman, and you can do just that if you come to our release party in aid of CALM (info below). Having already played shows with the likes of The Wytches, the band are bringing excitement and a much needed punch to the local scene and no doubt they will be providing the same impact across the country with their debut EP that will be released soon. In the meantime, the band have released an explosive debut song titled 'Deceiver' and frontman Jack Hilbert spoke to us before their debut Cambridge gig:

You released a track title 'Deceiver' on Soundcloud and it's absolutely awesome. What's next for Prison Whites?

We're currently focusing on playing shows. We have a couple coming up in Cambridge and a bunch in London too. We're also working on a load of new material right now.

What are you most looking forward to?

Playing with our good friends Forest and and Nervous Conditions at Cambridge's notorious Rathmore Club at the end of July, drinking too much Guinness and pissing off the regulars. We also can't wait to play a lot more with our best buds The Bodies.

If Zayn Malik asked to join your band would you let him?

We've got no beef with him... he can play organ or something.

When can we expect your debut E.P?

We went into the studio a couple of months ago. The songs from that session are going to be self-released as a 5 track cassette towards the end of summer.

What's your best karaoke song?

The Replacements - Unsatisfied.

Prison Whites play their debut Cambridge gig for our release party on Sunday 5th July at The Portland Arms with The Saps and Best Friends. Tickets are £6.50 and all profit goes to the wonderful charity CALM who help prevent male suicide in the UK. Get your tickets here.
