Premiere: Slift's face melting new album La Planète Inexplorée
It’s no secret that we adore French heavy psych trio Slift. We introduced them to y’all a few months ago with an interview, then they absolutely shredded London and the Bristol Psych Fest, and now we are honoured to be premiering their new record La Planète Inexplorée out 28th September on Stolen Body Records, Howlin’ Banana, Six Tonnes de Chairs, Exag’ and Rockerill Records. Each label will have their own limited edition vinyl variant.
The record is ferocious. It’s no holes barred and challenges the likes of King Gizzard, Oh Sees and Ty Segall. The record was recorded in the winter of 2017 the guru of French garage rock Lo Spider in the bands home of Toulouse, straight to tape and it was mastered by Jim Diamond (The Go, Fleshtones, White Stripes…). Birthed from late night jams, the record is heavily based on improvisation, much like their live performance. The theme of the record? Creating wormholes to awaken an ice giant that has been sleeping for a millennium on a distant planet. Fucking cool, right?
