Menace Beach get down and fuzzy with "Ghoul Power"

First came the title track, and now we've got a second slice of Menace Beach's new EP Super Transporterreum. It's called Ghoul Power, and band member Ryan Needham details the track as being about "finding a little alien ghoul and discovering that when you keep him in close proximity he soaks up all your darkness and anxieties." The whole thing oozes 90s grunge like toxic sludge, led by a distorted vocal give-and-take between Needham and fellow vocalist Liza Violet that stalks through a haze of gritty riffs, sometimes losing control and lurching drunkenly into toe-curling banshee shrieks. The EP was recorded with Hookworms' MJ, and looks to build upon debut album Ratworld - a wonderful clutter of lo-fi Leeds-does-West Coast guitars - and is out September 25th on Memphis Industries.
