Listen to The Magic Gang "Jasmine"

Indie-rock lore dictates that every few months there must be a new guitar band to be hyped up, and The Magic Gang fit the bill pretty snugly. Early cuts 'No Fun' and 'Alright' carried all the hallmarks of a Transatlantic Weezer, circa The Green Album; stoned Buddy Holly vocals and huge dollops of chugging guitar. Their online content may be limited, but the Brighton four-piece have been making themselves known across the UK this year, having supported Spector, Wolf Alice and most recently Swim Deep on their respective tours. 'Jasmine', the first track from the band's debut EP is a fluttery indie-pop ditty, with lead-singer Jack Kaye riding a wave of sun-kissed melancholy about mismatched love.

The band are touring in December, closing with a night at London's Lexington, and The Magic Gang EP will be released on January 8, through Telharmonium Records.
